(37)     BitSeek: Decentralized AI Infrastructure Revolutionizing the Web3 Industry Updated Apr 29, 2025, 11:02 p.m.Published Apr 29, 2025, 11:00 p.m. https://www.coindesk.com/sponsored-content/bitseek-decentralized-ai-infrastructure-revolutionizing-the-web3-industry  Redefining Web3 AI with Crypto-Native and User-Owned DeLLM Infrastructure Today, artificial intelligence is controlled by a few major corporations such as OpenAI, Google, and Meta, which dictate access to models and exploit user data. But there’s a deeper problem. Even within the Web3 industry, most so-called decentralized AI projects remain dependent on centrally hosted Web2 LLMs, limiting user control and privacy. DeLLMs remain scarce, and most existing decentralized models only offer around 70 billion parameters. This contrasts sharply with powerful models like DeepSeek, which boasts 671 billion instruct-tuned parameters. Building LLMs at that scale demands enormous capital, making it nearly impossib...

(33)    The Most Important Chart in Crypto Right Now  Matt Hougan  -  Chief Investment Officer Retail sentiment in crypto is terrible even though the fundamentals are great. I smell opportunity. There is a fascinating dichotomy in crypto right now between institutional and retail investors. On the one hand, institutional sentiment towards crypto is the most bullish I’ve ever seen. When investment professionals look at crypto today, they see this: Institutional capital is allocating to the space in record amounts via ETFs, and Washington has gone from being one of crypto’s biggest threats to one of its biggest champions. Things we only dreamed of a year ago—like nation-states adopting strategic bitcoin reserves—now seem somewhere between possible and imminent. And the biggest risks to crypto, like government bans or legal threats to software developers, are distant nightmares. From a risk-adjusted perspective, it is arguably the best time in history to invest in ...

(31)  Short-Term Pain, Long-Term Gain (Redux) Matt Hougan    - Chief Investment Officer Thoughts on the recent market pullback—and a lesson from crypto’s recent past. In July of last year, I wrote a CIO Memo called “Short-Term Pain, Long-Term Gain.” At the time, crypto was in a bad place. Bitcoin, which had peaked above $73,000 in March 2024, had fallen to roughly $55,000, a 24% pullback. Ethereum was down 27% over the same time period. The crypto market is facing a weird dynamic right now, I wrote. All the short-term news is bad, and all the long-term news is good. On the plus side, I saw long-term catalysts like ETF flows, the bitcoin halving, and changing attitudes in D.C. On the minus side, I saw short-term challenges like the Mt. Gox distributions and government sales of bitcoin. The dichotomy between short-term negatives and long-term positives is creating an incredible potential opportunity for long-term investors, I concluded. That turned out to be prescient. Shor...

The first time I heard about bitcoin was in February 2011. I was working at ETF.com at the time, managing a team of young financial analysts running the world’s first ETF data and analytics service. We had a weekly meeting where we talked about what was happening in the market. In February 2011, bitcoin first crossed $1, and one of my analysts called out this historic “dollar threshold.” He then led an amazing conversation about what bitcoin was, how it worked, and what it could become. If I had invested $1,000 in bitcoin after that meeting, it would be worth $88 million today. Instead, I left the office and got a co...
